What is a brochure?
A brochure is a booklet or pamphlet containing advertising or summarised information for a target market.

Brohcures have several different purposes and are designed and used for:

* a marketing tool to advertise services or products;
* an information providing tool to inform people about specific things.

When a brochure is being designed to sell or explain your products or services, it’s important to remember that this brochure is going to “talk on your behalf” about your services or products that you offer. The brochure must get across the correct message, it must be clear and, most important of all, it has to sell or explain your product or service – which is your ultimate goal.

Purpose of the brochure
Determine the purpose of the brochure and write down everything you would like to include in the brochure. Include the benefits to the clients and why they should choose your products/services above those of your competition.

Plan your brochure layout
First impressions are lasting and the cover page should be attractive and should include the name of your company/product/service, a photo or graphic and other pertinent information. The company logo is also very important to have on the front for branding purposes.

Writing style
Keep sentences short and to the point and give only necessary information.

Headings
Use headings to draw attention to sections in the brochure and these headings should stand out to draw attention to the different sections in the brochure. Normally a bigger font, different colour or bold print would be used.
